The goal for this program is to assist members of our community in furthering their education and to hopefully become an asset to area employers and to improve their own skills.

Chamber awards scholarships to 10 lucky students

The Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Foundation honored 10 local college students with $1,000 scholarships.

The recipients include three recent high school graduates: David Greene (La Salle High, Temple), Christina Whitaker (Franklin Towne Charter, Holy Family) and Krista Patterson (St. Hubert, University of Pennsylvania).

In addition, awards went to seven current college students: William Lawrence (Temple), Andrew Thum (La Salle), James Dalton (Temple), William Dalton (Temple), Rita Marie Elmer (Holy Family), Nicholas Pables (King’s College) and Aaron Horwitz (Yeshivat Sha’alvim in Israel).

The young people were honored on June 25 during a dinner, complete with cake and desserts, at Edgemont Caterers in Bridesburg.
